Auto Save feature in Dyalog?!?!

I don’t know why there isn’t an Auto Save feature in Dyalog.
The reason I’m saying this is because sometimes we forget to type ” )save” and end up losing our work.
Most programs like, word, excel… have an auto save feature ensuring that you will never lose your work, it also has a recovery feature so if your computer ever crashes you can always recover your work where you left it.

So, why doesn’t Dyalog have an Auto Save feature?
Will Dyalog ever have an Auto Save feature?

Thank you.

  1. Depends on how you normally save your program code. In essence you need to set up a timer, which will call a function that saves your program code. The session object seems a handy place to put both timer and function as it is always present in the workspace.

  2. There again you could get your employer to adopt a code management system that would automatically save each item at the point of fixing and/or exiting the editor rather than saving all of the code and data every time.
